What is a janam kundli?
A janam kundli, also called a birth chart or horoscope, is a map of the sky at your exact time and place of birth. It places the nine planets of Vedic astrology across the 12 houses of the chart, and everything an astrologer reads about you starts from this map.
What details do I need to generate a kundli?
Date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. Name and gender are optional. The more exact the birth time, the more accurate the Lagna and house positions.
What if I do not know my exact birth time?
Use your closest estimate. Planetary sign positions and dasha periods stay broadly reliable, though the Lagna and house placements may shift. For decisions that depend on precise timing, a Prashna Kundli consultation works without any birth details.
What does the free kundli include?
North and South Indian chart styles, planetary positions, Vimshottari dasha periods and dosha checks for Mangal, Kaal Sarp and Sade Sati. It also lists the significant yogas formed in your chart. All calculations use Swiss Ephemeris data.
My kundli shows a dosha. Should I worry?
